Nonsense! It WAS an excellent performance! The spark was certainly there from Violetta in her relationship both with Giorgio and Alfredo. The spark was certainly there from Alfredo in his relationship with Giorgio and with Violetta.

The 1930's set is less appropriate for the conventions of the time the opera was set than the FABULOUS, sumptuous set we had! Brilliant! (Pity the curtain stuck at the beginning of Wednesday's performance!)

Violetta was outstanding and the others excellent. One outstanding and two excellent equals "excellent" overall.
