As you may have heard Alfie missed the June 10th and June 12th performances of the ENO’ Pearl Fishers due to illness. He is recovering well and sends the message below…

Thanks for all your messages. Wanting to get back to the show for saturday was wishful thinking, I’m still not 100% but getting there. Thank you all for your kind words and a special thanks to little Aimee who offered to send me some cough mixture. I’ll be back soon, on form.

I saw you at The Liverpool Philharmonic on Saturday, and spoke to you afterwards about my singing. I was so so touched by your performance, you really have helped me to decide that classical singing is definitely what I want to do with my life, so for that I thank you. xxx

Such a pity having the flu. I went to Ribchester to see Alfie in the Music Festival, sadly he was not there. What a disappointment!

I was very sorry you were unable to sing at the opera gala at the Royal Albert Hall on 28th June as I had come to London especially to hear you sing.
I do hope you are fully recovered now.
