Message from Neil 28 June 2011 – Recording news

Morning all

I thought I should update you all with our current recording plans – You spotted “Love Was A Dream” about to be released – Well, it is and the reason behind this is simple. Alfie and I think the Lehar album is a wonderful record, Lehar wrote some beautiful songs and we wanted to bring it to a much wider audience. Our new Record Company, Decca agreed and came to an arrangement with Linn Records, the label that we recorded “Love Was A Dream” for back in 2009, to licence the album, to use new artwork and photos and to make the album available though the Universal network. This means that everyone can now get the album and I hope enjoy this splendid recording.

And yes, the big news is, there will be a brand new Alfie Boe album for Christmas. Release date is likely to be in November. As for the title, well, we are still deciding what to call it – When we have come to a conclusion on the tile and the track listing, I will let you know. All I can say for now is that we hope its going to make you all very happy. It is simply stunning !

I had a wonderful time at Queens on Saturday, Alfie and the whole company just blew me away, it was awesome !!!!!

For those of us stuck on the wrong side of the Atlantic, Amazon.com calls it “The Music of the Night” and offers it for November 8 at $28.62. No list of contents. I am hoping for the two he sang at the IOM concert. I will also try iTunes, which has been very good at getting others, even an old HMS Pinafore.

Alfie’s first night in Les Mis was spectacular. Things really are a rockin’ for him now. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. He’s ‘the best’.

I was a little uncertain about Love was a Dream when I saw it on Amazon.ca here in Canada. Happy to hear the news as I pre ordered it and the new one coming in November. Funny how we can pre order these cd’s especially the new one in November when everything isn’t finalized yet. That is good news. I havn’t checked yet, but hope to get it from Amazon here in the US. The Les Mis 02 I ordered as soon as it came out from Amazon UK was coded and wouldn’t play, but my smart son was able to decode it. Of course, I went out and got one here immediately. I never tire watching it. Thank you for all you do to help Alfie achieve his goals and aspirations, and to make his tremendous talent available for everyone around the world!!!

I’m really excited, I live in New Zealand so I don’t get to see Alfie Live but it is so great to be able to buy all his albums. I am a lyric tenor studying opera over here and Alfie is one of my favourite tenors. I really hope it does include Music of the Night as I am singing this and would learn heaps from Alfie =)
