Dear All – Just to let you know, Alfie is feeling much better now and I’m delighted to say, he will be back as Jean Valjean tonight.

  This is good news for those going to tonight’s performance. I hope that it’s a good one and that Alfie does his usual mastering of the Jean Valjean role. I also hope that he paces himself on and off the stage. He’s a great vocalist and as most of us know – health is of the utmost importance to singers (especially around the tonsils, throat, vocal chords).

  I came to see you on Friday 22nd July with my niece. The show was brilliant and you sang brilliantly considering you had a throat infection.
  We waited to get your autograph in the pouring rain but you had to go before you got to us down at the bottom of the queue. You did give us a lovely smile and a wave.
  Keep up the good work. Fantastic as always.
  My niece did get a photo of herself and Matt Lucas. I had to take the picture twice because the phone wouldn’t work (probably because of the weather).
  I think my niece is now converted She didn’t know what to expect but she was cheering and clapping and also gave a standing ovation, along with us all.
